Milwaukee Labor Law Attorneys
Serving unions and working people since 1912
The Previant Law Firm, S.C. was founded in 1912 by labor law attorney Joseph Padway, a pioneer in the field of labor law. Attorney Padway played a significant role in the development of many of Wisconsin’s major labor laws and was general counsel for the American Federation of Labor.

Following in the footsteps of Mr. Padway, our team of labor law attorneys continues to represent large and small labor unions in Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Illinois, and around the nation. Over the years, we have participated in federal and state appellate court proceedings on behalf of organized labor, including cases in the 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and the District of Columbia Circuit Courts of Appeals. We have won nine victories on behalf of labor in the U.S. Supreme Court.
At The Previant Law Firm, S.C., we look forward to many more years of service to the working people of Wisconsin and the nation. Contact our office online or call 888-513-3592 (toll-free 800-558-0975) for assistance with any labor law matter.
Representing unions in Wisconsin and across the nation
Our labor law attorneys have represented the Wisconsin AFL-CIO, various Teamster Joint Councils, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, and dozens of Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Illinois, and Kentucky labor union locals in negotiation, arbitration, and litigation for contract disputes, union grievances, and bankruptcy matters.
Disputes: Our labor law attorneys advise and counsel clients on a whole range of labor law areas. They are available to participate in or consult on contract negotiation. The attorneys are also involved in wrongful discharge, contract negotiations, employment law issues, collection of unpaid benefits, and all aspects of federal and state law litigation.
Bankruptcy: The union has a fiduciary responsibility to protect its members when a company declares bankruptcy and union members must file for lost wages and benefits in bankruptcy court. We protect the interests of unions and thereby its members in Wisconsin and multi-state business bankruptcy cases.
