The law firm of Previant, Goldberg, Uelmen, Gratz, Miller & Brueggeman, S.C. (PGU) has a long and illustrious history. The firm was founded in 1912 by attorney Joseph Padway, a pioneer in the field of labor law who played a significant role in the development of many of the major labor laws of Wisconsin on the books today. Mr. Padway served for a time as general counsel for the American Federation of Labor.

The breadth of our labor law practice is well known and recognized in the communities we serve. Over the years, our firm has participated in federal and state appellate court proceedings, winning nine victories for union members in the United States Supreme Court. Our team of labor lawyers represent many of the largest labor unions in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest.
In 1969, PGU expanded its service to injured people by strengthening our litigation team with the addition of noted Wisconsin personal injury attorney Larry B. Brueggeman. Mr. Brueggeman has vigorously and successfully led many complex personal injury and wrongful death cases, earning recognition as a "Wisconsin Super Lawyer" and a listing in the publication "Best Lawyers in America."
In fact, among PGU’s attorneys are five attorneys who are recognized as "Super Lawyers": Partners Larry Brueggeman and Thomas Flanagan, Matthew Robbins and Marianne Goldstein Robbins. The firm itself is listed in the Martindale-Hubbell "Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers," the definitive directory of the legal profession's top practitioners, designated by colleagues as preeminent in their field. Also, the following attorneys have been named as "Super Lawyers Rising Stars": Jill M. Hartley, Nathan D. Eisenberg and Jason R. Oldenburg.
Accolades aside, it's results that count when lives are disrupted and people are suffering after a serious personal injury. Successful settlements and verdicts are the real proof of our dedication to helping the working people of Wisconsin find justice and financial compensation in court.
